South Sudan National Bureau of Standards dumped over 5,000 bags of expired wheat flour and 1,000 bags of lentils belonging to Edward International because they were improper for consumption.

Director Gaar Yuang Bior told reporters in Juba on Wednesday that they were dumping the food stuff because it got spoiled due to poor storage facilities, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said the Bureau of Standards did not accept commodities that did not meet national demands of quality.

Edward International Director Samuel Lasu said the store was not good.

Mr Lasu explained that his goods got wet on the way from Nairobi and got spoiled.

He said as a businessman he needed to sell quality goods to maintain a good name.

The spoiled goods were imported by the Juba-based company from Ukraine and Turkey.
