Equatoria was very franc about the issues it discussed in last week’s conference because the region is getting a raw deal from the governance of the country.

Central Equatoria Information Minister Jacob Aligo lo Lodu told CRN that the issues of justice, equal treatment of citizens regardless of their region and ethnicity discussed in the Equatoria Conference 2013 have impact in the nation.

He said the people fought for justice and that it was important to see that justice ruled the country.

The minister added that the people of Equatoria were very franc about their feelings that they were marginalized in the affairs of the country.

Mr Aligo dismissed views expressed by some media that South Sudan would break up due to regional conferences.

He said South Sudan will only break up if people do not listen to issues that can unite them such as the call for a federal system that many suffered for when Sudan was one.

The minister added that the Equatoria Conference was not about discussing issues against other regions but how the region can improve its economy, education and health services.
