Citizens of Western Bahr el Ghazal state have expressed concern about lack of communication by the Peace and Reconciliation Committee formed by the government to disseminate messages of peace and sensitize the people.
The Peace and Reconciliation Program started on the earlier February 2013 as the government brought together all the citizens of the state at Wau Peace hall.The committee has already conducted three public rallies within Wau municipality but the attendance was poor.
During a live program on Voice of Hope radio on Thursday callers appreciated the initiative of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee but they complained of the poor communication about their activities.
Caller Paul Gareb Augoustin said the rally was conducted in their residential area but most of the seats were empty because the rally was not announced.
He added that citizens have no idea about the committee’s program and called on the committee to make awareness campaigns before it begins its work.
General Secretary of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee, Livio Geliogo Bahra, explained that this program started in three areas in Wau named of Salam, Darajat and Eastern Bank.
He admitted the the attendance was poor.
