A fourth-year student at the Catholic University in Wau state died on Monday in a car accident on his way from Juba to Jonglei.
Peter Gadut, studying at the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment Sciences, was on his way to Bentiu, in Unity State.
Relative Chiol Koul told Voice of Hope that the news of Gadut’s death shocked the family members and the university colleagues.
He said Gadut was visiting people in Juba and Jonglei on his way to Bentiu and then would go back to Wau.
Mr Kuol said the car where Gadut was travelling crashed in Mangala and he was transferred to Juba for treatment.
Some hours later he died.
Mr Koul explained that the widow and the two children of the late student were flown to Juba to transfer the body to Unity State for burial.
Faculty authorities and colleagues sent their condolences to the family and friends of late Gadut.
Gadut was known as a very committed and honest student.
