SPLA-N has raised a new flag in Nuba Mountains on Thursday to mark its independence from South Sudan’s SPLM.
Brigadier General Tau Kanjalla Tau explained that the celebration marked a historical moment of all the people of the Nuba Mountains region.He said the aim of raising the new flag was to unite Nuba people and to support their leaders and the army in the frontline.
General Kanjalla said this would enable them to push out the regime of Khartoum.
General Kanjalla said the new flag tells the world that the SPLA-N is not supported by the Government of South Sudan, but stands on its own.
The new flag starts with the black colour which symbolizes the dignity of the people of Nuba Mountains, white colour for peace, red colour symbolizes the blood of the heroes and martyrs, the star symbolizes hope of new Sudan, the blue colour indicates the Nile, and the circle represented the ongoing war in the state.
