Hundreds of Christians on Tuesday turned up at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Torit for a commemoration mass in memory late hero Fr Saturnino Ohure killed 46 years ago while struggling for the liberation of South Sudan.
Fr Kamilo Afore urged the community to investigate and record Fr Saturnino’s life story collecting memories in his home place, Radio Emmanuel reported.He added that Fr Saturlino was no ordinary man.
Catholic Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek of Torit prayed for blessings on the special day of Fr Saturlino’s death.
He asked for all deceased priest to bless the Church and the Government, the young visionary leaders of South Sudan and fill their hearts.
Bishop Akio prayed for peace to reign in homes, villages, payams, towns, churches, states and the entire South Sudan.
He asked God to bless the people to seek for leaders of integrity, honesty, peace and love through Fr Saturnino’s intercession.
