The Chief of United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has called on the people of South Sudan not to take tribal line and attack other communities.
Hilde F Johnson told the congregation at St Theresa’s Cathedral Kator that many South Sudanese are divided along their tribal lines.She stressed that leaders cannot implement any peace initiative in the country when all citizens side with their communities.
Ms Johnson revealed that South Sudan’s future stands in the unity of its people irrespective of tribe, colour, gender or religion.
The Chief asked all to stop ethnic hatred and conflict in 2013.
She wished all people of South Sudan a happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.
