Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek said Christmas season should be a time for Christians to treasure the message of Jesus Christ and receive Him as a redeemer. He urged all to embrace peace at each different levels of the society, from the state to the payams, and prayed for peace amongst the Christians in Torit and South Sudan in general.
Bishop Akio urged Christians to refrain from bad practices that might draw them away from God and to overcome challenges through prayers rather than harmful practices.
Eastern Equatoria State has been marred by violent incidence in the past weeks.
Bishop Akio made the statement while delivering his Christmas and New Year message to all the citizens in the Nation.
