FIRE GUTS CHURCH PROPERTIES IN YEI

An electric fire broke out at Christ the King Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Yei, burning some of the properties in the Parish block on Saturday.

A servant of the Church, Angelo Bulli explained that keyboard, baptism cards, Alps, chair, and the room door were all burnt.

He said the fire outbreak was suspected to have started from the electrical socket that exploded.

The Church electric technician, Ofutu Moses told Radio Easter that the fire outbreak could have been caused by loss connection and short circuit that easily sparked a flame.

He advised all power users to switch off the power if nobody is utilizing it to avoid burning.

The head catechist of the Parish, Nathaniel Brown expressed sorrow for the destruction that occurred in fathers’ sitting room that gutted baptism cards.
