County Commissioner has held the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) responsible for the reappearance of arms and widespread insecurity in Lakes State.
The Commissioner of Cueibet County said some SPLA at the borders have become merchants of death by secretly selling firearms to conflicting communities, Good News Radio reported.He said the army who are selling the riffles hide themselves from the State and County authorities to escape arrest.
The Commissioner said they go direct to the community when there is conflict and sell the rifles.
He expalined that in the last week Commissioners’ forum, three issues emerged including strategies to realize decentralization system, formation of County Councillors and implementation of Local Government Act 2009.
The forum facilitated by UNDP and CEPO was attended by State County commissioners, local chiefs, women representatives and various youth leaders in the State.
