SPLM secretariat in Western Bahr El Ghazal State on Thursday has welcomed one of its members after been proved innocent over allegation of forming militia group.
Anthony Nbandu Joseph, SPLM State Deputy Chairperson, was arrested in June in Western Equatoria State and was taken to Juba on accusation of attempting to rebel.He has been proved innocent after three months’ investigation in Juba, and has retained his position.
Speaking during the reception ceremony, Nbandu said he is returning to unite all the members of the party.
Mr. Nbandu said he was accused to have joined the LRA, he was also accused of being George Athor in Wau and that he never respected the state government.
He noted that he was freed because all those allegations were proved false.
Mr Nbandu promised to forgive those who were behind his arrest and work together for the common good of the party.
Nbandu’s arrival in the state has shown the beginning of unity in the state SPLM secretariat which was divided after his arrest.
