CLERGY URGES STUDENTS TO EMBRACE NATIONALISM

The Assistant Parish Priest of Saint Joseph in the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba has urged students to embrace nationalism to lead South Sudan to a better future.

Fr Peter Mawa told the students of Nile Model Secondary School during theirÊ Cultural Day and Christmas Carol that they should be Apostles of peace and unity among the people of South Sudan.

He called on the students to hold nationalism as a way forward for the development of the new nation.

Fr Mawa stressed that for peace to prevail all must accept themselves as South Sudanese, irrespective of their colour, gender and creed.

Hundreds of students, parents and government officials attended Nile Model Secondary School Cultural Day and Christmas Carol.

Several activities including sketches, speeches and poems marked the celebration.

On Friday Juba Technical Secondary School will hold its Cultural Day and Christmas Carol opened by Eucharistic celebration concelebrated by Fr Gabriel Asida Andrew, Secretary-General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba and Fr Peter Loro, Saint Joseph Parish Priest.

Many Primary and Secondary schools are closing for academic vacation to leave chance for the finalists to prepare for primary and secondary leaving.
