The United Methodist Church has conducted an one-day HIV AIDS training in Yei on Friday under the theme “Community HIV AIDS Awareness Training” or CHAAT.
Lynn Fogeland, who works in community health, told Radio Easter that the six-month program funded by Houston Conference of the United Methodist Church in the United States aims at training Church people to conduct awareness campaigns about HIV AIDS.He said the whole program cost between 2,000 and 3,000 US Dollars.
Dr Fogeland advised people to be aware that HIV AIDS is a real threat.
He invited locals to attend some of the workshops organized by the participants in Methodist churches.
Dr Fogeland said Friday’s training was the first of its kind organized by the church in South Sudan.
