The Youth Coordination Office in the Catholic Diocese of Wau has launched the first youth conference under the theme “Youth towards Life of Light” to discuss ways to clear community misconceptions about young people.
Youth coordinator Romano Louis Mangu told Voice of Hope that the meeting was part of the Year of the Faith declared by Pope Benedict.He said the three-day conference would bring the youth together to discuss their place in Church and in politics and strengthen bonds of love and cooperation.
Fr Louis appealed to youth to participate in building the nation and get united through their participation in the conference.
He said the conference was a good occasion for the youth to clear the bad reputation of misbehaviour.
This conference drew 80 young women and men from the 16 parishes of Wau Diocese that are learning about their role in life and the importance of matrimony.
The conference should come up with a number of resolutions.
