FAO, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, is to implement an agro-forestry project in Morobo County of Central Equatoria to combat deforestation.
Morobo County Commissioner Moses Simon Soro announced that FAO promised to help plant over 100,000 trees in the County to combat environmental degradation due over exploitation of forests by dealers who never replanted what they cut.The Commissioner said he stopped the cutting of trees in the County indefinitely to curb deforestation until a workable solution is found.
The project, the first of its kind t in the County, will benefit the entire community.
