The head of the Episcopal Church of Sudan in Yei has called for peace and harmony among the different communities in the county to defeat tribalism.

The call came after a meeting over land ownership in Giru residential area two weeks ago.

Bishop Hillary Luate Adeba told a joint meeting of community leaders on Monday that it was high time to build peace to overcome tribal indifferences and concentrate on developing the county.

Yei River County Commissioner Juma David Augustine said the Government promoted peaceful co-existence and respect for the rule of law in the county.

The leader of the Kakwa Community Thomas Wani called for forgiveness and reconciliation to open a new chapter for unity and cooperation among the various communities living in Yei River County.
