The Ministry of Education in Western Bahr El Ghazal State is introducing a new school uniform for all government primary schools.
Hussein Mohammed, Acting Director for Planning and Budgeting in the ministry told Voice of Hope in a live show that the design and colour are already available in the ministry.He said Parent Teacher Association is requested to first see and approve before the ministry introduces the new uniforms.
Mr. Mohamed said as soon as the parents approved the design, the ministry will phase out the old uniforms.
The parents requested that each school should have a different uniform in order to recognize pupils in case they misbehaved outside schools.
They also reported that uniforms should be affordable to all parents.
About ten primary schools in Wau use the same uniform brown and blue which the parents said has to be changed.
