The Health Director in Nasir County of Upper Nile State said the only public health centre in the area ran out of drugs.

Marco Makuiy told Internews that the hospital stayed without drugs for three months.

He said Nasir Hospital has only drugs to treat malaria.

Patients that need other medicines are referred to private clinics.

Mr Makuiy appealed to the local community to be patient, as the state government is making preparations to send the drugs to Nasir County.

Nasir County was badly affected by floods. Most roads are in poor conditions, delaying the flow of goods from the state headquarters to counties and payams.
