At least 11 people were killed in an inter-clan fight in Jiir Payam of Rumbek Central County and another 17 were brought to hospital for treatment.
The fighting took place on Tuesday and Wednesday over cattle issues.Rumbek Hospital Medical Director Teran John Teran told Good News Radio on Thursday mourning that the hospital was still receiving wounded people for treatment.
He said most of the victims suffered minor injuries, but one person died in the hospital and another was in serious condition and needed a life saving surgery.
Dr Teran said on Wednesday the hospital was overcrowded but the police secured the premises and the situation is normal.
The medical director said the hospital needed more equipments to cope with emergencies.
The police cordoned off the hospital to avoid acts of revenge among the victims admitted for treatment.
