A human rights group announced the publication of a book-report about the situation in the restive region of Nuba Mountains.

Rashid Adam Anur, a rights activist in Heiban County, announced that Human Rights Watch is producing a book documenting violations of human rights in Nuba Mountains.

Mr Adam said a Human Rights Watch team was in Heiban last week to document the humanitarian situation in the area.

The activist said Human Rights Watch urged Khartoum to halt its military campaign targeting civilians in Nuba Mountains.

Mr Adam advised the community to continue digging shelters for protection now that air attacks intensified with the onset of the dry season.
