The administration of Juba Vocational Training Centre known locally as MTC said on Tuesday the centre is starting intake interview for 185 candidates in seven sections.

Director Arekangelo Ngamin told CRN that the courses will begin right away after the Japanese government offered to renovate the MTC and provide trainers for the centre.

He said the facility was handed over Monday to the national government and that it is ready to enrol 185 trainees.

Deputy Director for Training Alber Okoya Pasto explained that the courses are divided into one secretariat and six technical sections, including car mechanics, building, metal work, carpentry and plumbing.

He added technical courses took six months while secretariat was only three months.

Trainees are required to have primary eight certificates or primary seven certificates from East African or high school dropouts.

Mr Okoya said the candidates would pay 25 Pounds for registration and a tuition fee of 200 pounds per term.

Deputy Administration Martin Lugala urged girls to join the MTC and get a profession.

He said girls were given special consideration and if they pursued whatever course they would earn better chances for their future.

Mr Lugala said MTC-Juba offered boarding facilitates for trainees from outside Juba.
