Delegates from the SPLM Caucus in the National Legislative Assembly Monday held a special meeting with the SPLM chairpersons in Western Equatoria State Legislative Assembly in Yambio.

The meeting was chaired by the Speaker of Western Equatoria State Legislative Assembly, Bage James Elisa, Anisa FM reported.

Speaker Bage explained that the delegates were sent by the Chairperson of the SPLM Caucus Atem Garang to familiarize themselves with issues pertaining to SPLM in the States’ Assemblies to see how they can build one interest and one understanding with the National Assembly.

He added that the meeting would also help them to know the status of the communities politically, economically and socially, and the orientation of the members to line up behind the SPLM.

During the meeting, the members came up with issues like the budget of Western Equatoria State which is small compared to other states, the problems of the austerity measures and the Emolument Act which exists only at the national Assembly.

Finally, they came up with the resolution that most of the things they discussed will be taken and addressed at the SPLM general meeting in the state and pushed to the parliament.
