The Ugandan community celebrated the fiftieth birthday of their nation with a big feast at Nyakuron Cultural Centre in Juba.
Jane Nimpanya Gubare, who headed the organizing committee, told Bakhita Radio that on October 9, 1962 Uganda got its independence from Great Britain.She added that the Ugandan nationals living in Juba wanted to celebrate the golden jubilee of Uganda’s independence in style.
Ms Nimpanya called on all Ugandans in South Sudan to remain patriotic and keep the laws of the hosting country.
Ugandan Ambassador to South Sudan Busho Ndinyenka joined in the celebration.
Hundreds of Ugandan nationals turn up for the occasion at Nyakuron Cultural Centre.
