The permanent Constitution is of the people and for the people and it is important that the people, the Church and the society participate in the constitutional review process.

This is the view retired Bishop Paride Taban of Torit shared in an interview with CRN.

He said the members of the Constitutional Review Commission represented the people but could not impose a Constitution on the nation without a wide debate.

Bishop Taban stressed that the Constitutional Review process should involve as many people as possible.

The Constitutional Review Commission was appointed in January 2012 but is still waiting for the funds to start its work.
