A swarm of bees attacked a primary school in Western Bahr el Ghazal on Thursday disrupting classes as a considerable number of pupils got stung.

Wau A Boys Headmaster Myerson Jumbo told Voice of Hope that he was surprised to see pupils running out of the classes before the second lesson.

He said some teachers and the deputy headmaster were also stung.

Mr Jumbo assured that no serious injury was reported.

He explained that a beehive appeared in the school long ago but on Thursday the pupils disturbed the bees.

The administration closed the school for the day.

Mr Jumbo added that the school will resume teaching immediately as possible.

The incident coincided with a Parent Teacher Association meeting which was expected to come up with solutions for the school’s problems.

This is the second time a swarm of bees attacks a local school in Wau.

Few months ago it was the turn of Wau Technical Commercial Secondary School in Eastern Bank.
