Jonglei MPs in the National Legislative Assembly called on David Yau Yau to accept the amnesty and end violence in Pibor County.

John Jock Chol, who heads the caucus, said Jonglei State needed development and Yau Yau’s armed insurgency will not solve problems, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said the Murle community is being destabilized and it needs schools, water, hospitals, roads and other development.

The MP added that fighting causes massive displacement and retards development.

Mr Jock said the lives of people lost will not come back again.

He added that Mr Yau Yau’s insurgency was unacceptable to God.

The MP called on soldiers to disarmed people peacefully.

Mr Jock called on the Pibor community to distance from Yau Yau’s fighting that tends to shoot in Khartoum’s interests.
