Save the Children-Sweden has distributed food material to over 500 children in Kumu Fog area.

The food was provided by the Samaritan Purse organization to help children who are malnourished below five years.

The Head of nutrition and Director working for malnutrition in the region, Edward Abdalla Kocho Kartushi, said nutrition was very important and the food would help retain the health of children.

Mr. Abdalla stressed that all the children are suffering from hunger not only malnutrition, and parents should sell out what they have in order to feed them.

Each child received five small packets of groundnut paste.

The nutrition Director remarked that the distribution began in Kumu and may extend to other villages in the Payam.

Eliza Philip, a mother of four children, said she was happy about the step the organization has taken to help the children who are malnourished.

She also said all the children including adults are malnourished and that the organization is supposed to provide also for children above 13.

Mrs. Philip appealed to the NGO to continue providing the help until the situation gets better.
