The Motherland Military Training Saturday morning graduated its first batch of volunteers who took oath of allegiance in the presence of state high authorities and military commanders.
The occasion took place at the military barracks of Division Two in Yambio, Western Equatoria State, Anisa FM reported.Sixty seven volunteers completed the three-month training on physical and leadership skills: 32 came from Yambio and 35 from Maridi.
The new graduates are members of state parliament, youths, intellectuals and other government officials from different ministries.
Major Wol Akot, commander of the training center, said all volunteers who registered have completed despite the toughest training given to them.
He added that there are ten other volunteers in Ibba County who will enter for the second session together with those who would like to join.
Second Division Commander, Brigade Eight, General Makuol Ajang welcomed the graduates and urged them to be ready for any call at any time to go for a mission.
He asked them to be the security personnel and ambassadors in their respective areas to encourage more youth to join the army.
General Ajang further urged the new SPLA soldiers to avoid harassing civilians.
Governor Joseph Bangasi Bakosoro told the new soldiers to be disciplined, responsible and change from civilian behaviors to military life.
He warned them to put aside tribalism and abide by the government’s policiesy and objectives.
All graduates were asked to bring their curriculum Vitae for recommendations and promotions.
