Western Equatoria civil society members studied together the results of a research conducted in late February on the civil society groups in four of the ten states in South Sudan.
ADRA, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, conducted the one-day workshop on civil society analysis in Yambio on Tuesday.ADRA project Manager Namana Simon Mohandis told Anisa Radio that the sharing confirmed the information in the report.
He added that civil society groups wanted to make partnerships with one another to work better.
Mr Mohandis stated that ADRA is developing a strategic plan to have a paradigm shift to engage in service delivery with civil society groups.
He said in Western Equatoria researchers talked to government ministries, departments and commissions, community base organizations and faith organizations.
Mr Mohandis explained that the research found that a very weak structure and organization of several civil society groups.
He added that civil society groups may have constitutions, vision and mission statements, but most members cannot interpret them well.
Mr Mohandis reiterated that report shows that some community groups were formed due to external forces with goals that could not be achieved locally.
