Much effort is required to attract the youth to Jesus Christ and strengthen their faith.
Joseph Ukelo, the acting Parish priest of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Torit, expressed this view on Saturday during a youth picnic organized by the parish choir at Kineti Valley, Radio Emmanuel reported.He remarked that the Church sometimes loses the youth due to reluctance.
Fr Ukelo said the youth need initiatives that attract them while their absence makes the Church to become meaningless.
He observed that every means should be used to bring the youth to Christ.
Fr Ukelo emphasizes the use of cultural social interactions and dances in picnics Christ to bring the people to Christ.
The Comboni Missionary also cited the need to help children through formation of St. Kizito groups and Crusaders so that they learn how to pray.
Sts. Peter and Paul parish council information secretary Vitale Ofire Raphael told Radio Emmanuel that over 200 youth from two parishes of Torit turned up for the picnic.
