Youth and women are key to bring peace and recondition in every society of South Sudan.

Cleoniche Salvadeo coordinates the Women Desk in the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba. She told Bakhita Radio that youth and women are important agents of peace, reconciliation and forgiveness.

Sr Salvadeo said women represent 65 percent of the population of South Sudan and cannot be ignored.

All Saint-Rajaf Parish priest Hillary Morbe said the youth group attending the workshop would help educate their peers back in the parish because South Sudan has just emerged from conflict.

Participant Patricia Kuku Dario from Saint Vincent De Paul-Gumbo parish said she learned many things including leadership and conflict resolution.

Mama Kuku added that she will teach her children how to live a good and humble live.

Primo Wani, Youth Coordinator in the Archdiocese of Juba, said the facilitators taught same topics in various outside parishes including Saint Thomas-Mangala, St. Joseph the Worker-Lirya and St. Mary Immaculate-Terekeka.

These statements came at the closing session of a two-day workshop organized jointly by the Youth and Women Desk offices of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba on leadership, gender base violence, conflict resolution and peace building.
