The Commissioner of Yei River County has paid a one-day visit to Mahad primary to know the challenges facing the school.
Headmistress Cecilia Gaba said the school is hosting a total of 1,055 pupils and 124 adults in the Accelerated Learning Program, Radio Easter reported.She added that the school faces many challenges including limited premises, unmarked land and unnecessary stress.
Commissioner Juma David Augustine called upon the pupils to work hard to become the future leaders.
He said children had to go to school in order to have a better future.
Mr Juma urged the pupils to have a vision, determination and discipline to achieve success in their lives.
Student Gordon Gol complained that the school does not have water and classrooms, benches and teachers are not enough.
Mahad is a Government school which is in need of help to improve education standards in the county.
