Jonglei State peace process is witnessing great progress and the commission plans to assess how the resolutions are being implemented.

Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul of the Episcopal Church of Sudan – who heads the Jonglei Presidential Peace Committee – told CRN on Thursday that soon a monitoring committee will visit all the 11 counties of Jonglei State.

He said the monitoring committee will see what has been implemented and what remains to be implemented from the peace agreement signed in May.

The Archbishop added that there are many changes and the education and mobilization of residents have to continue for people to know their responsibilities in national development.

Archbishop Deng said the presidential committee is working to provide peace dividends like health centres and boreholes to communities in the state.

He revealed that a team will go to Pigi County to facilitate some communities to resolve their issues peacefully.

Archbishop Deng heads the Jonglei Peace Committee that facilitated the Jonglei Peace Agreement in May.
