Ten soldiers of Khartoum backed militia group have surrendered to SPLA Command area of division four in Panakwach and Wujin in Mayom County of Unity State.
SPLA Spokesman Colonel Philip Aguer Panyang told the press on Wednesday in Juba that the militias who surrendered in the last five days include a captain.He added that the ten militias were under the command of General GayÊ Yot who is now in Khartoum.
Colonel Aguer said the SPLA in the Panakwach and Wujin welcomed the militia who surrendered themselves.
He said the security situation in the border areas is normal.
The Spokesman said SPLA disarmament forces managed to trace 49 abducted women and children and are returned to their original families.
He said the abducted women and children were from Murle, Lou Nuer, Dinka Bor Communities and three from Central Equatoria State.
Col Aguer said the forces are continuing to trace cases of abducted children and women fron the attacks and counter attacks.
He said the disarmament forces in Jonglei State have collected 11521 different types of weapons.
