Pharmacies are being run by people who do not have the right qualifications and yet they claim to be pharmacists.
South Sudan Pharmaceutical Society Chairman Santino Tito Tibo told CRN on Saturday that the unqualified people who claim to be pharmacists tend to operate in remote areas where there is no monitoring.

He said some of these unqualified people can cause health problems to their clients.
The official called on the people of South Sudan to go first to a qualified doctor to see the drugs they need and then buy them from licensed pharmacists.
Dr Tito said the Pharmaceutical Society members came together to form a new leadership, discuss issues related to the profession and reflect on the few years they were in the office.
He said the new officials elected today will lay the foundation for a good pharmaceutical practice in South Sudan.
Over 50 pharmacists, members of the South Sudan Pharmaceutical Society, held in Juba a general assembly today under the theme “Together for quality pharmaceutical services in South Sudan.”
