The Government of Central Equatoria has warned local and international NGOs not cooperating with line ministries in the state that they will not receive tax exemption letters.
Deputy Governor Manase Lomole Waya told a joint meeting of local and international NGOs operating in the state that abuse of tax exemptions resulted in loss of revenue to both the state and national Governments.He said development partners have to sign a memorandum of understanding with the line ministry in order to qualify for tax exemption letters.
He criticized NGO individuals who sell in the market goods imported with tax exemption √É’behaving like business people.’
Mr Lomole revealed that all development partners must sign a memorandum of understanding with the concern ministries in order to streamline their working relationships.
Central Equatoria Deputy Governor told partners to follow policies and strategic development plans of line ministries in order to operate in the state.
After the meeting, state minister for Information and official spokesman of the government, Francis Barson Yuwasa, warned that any development partner that does not comply with this regulation will be asked to leave the state.
