An MP from the Central Equatoria Legislative Assemble has called on parents in the state to take education serious and send their children to school.
Paul Yohane Ponju said Yei River is the least represented county in the universities of Upper Nile, Bahr El Ghazal and Juba in terms of students.He added that Lainya and Kajo Keji follow Yei.
Mr Yohane called on parents to stop arranging early marriages for their daughters and allow the girls to finish their studies.
He said parents should not seek a luxurious life but education so that their children do not become slaves in the future.
Mr Yohane made these statements Wednesday evening in Otogo Payam, of Yei River County.
