The Commissioner of Juba County called on the citizens to work together with the City Council to arrest garbage dumping.

Stephen Wani Michael Saturday morning attended a door-to-door garbage collection campaign.

He told Bakhita Radio that the work of cleaning the city is a joint effort of citizens and the government.

Mr Wani advised citizens to avoid random dumping of garbage.

He strongly urged shopkeepers and businesspeople to avoid dumping their garbage by the roadside because it damages the reputation of the capital of the new country.

Mr Wani commended the Mayor of Juba for establishing the door-to-door garbage collection.

The new campaign comes just days after the President of the Republic called on the Mayor to clean the capital.
