Five major killer diseases are increasing infant mortality rates in South Sudan.
Achiro Paska Justine, a trainer from Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses for Yei River County, told Radio Easter that the top five killer diseases are malaria, pneumonia, diarrhoea, malnutrition and anaemia.Ms Achiro urged colleagues and the community to use the little knowledge they for managing children’s diseases in the County.
Bidali Martin Dumba, a community Health Worker for Rubeke Primary Health Care Unit, said he was happy with the training because it reveals what is indeed affecting children in the communities.
He added that after the training he will share what he learned with the people in general and with his workmates.
Mary Yobu, a clinical officer for Ombasi, said the training was nice.
She believes after the course her skills will effective facilitate management of communicable diseases.
The participants will go and train the village health workers.
