A medical Doctor in Rumbek has urged communities in Lakes State to stop believing that leprosy is from God, pointing out that God cannot punish his people with leprosy.
Chan Deng Malual, who is the Medical Director of Rumbek State Hospital, told Good News Radio on Monday that leprosy is a curable bacterial disease.He advised those who have leprosy to go to hospital for treatment free of charge.
Dr Deng made the statement during a Leprosy Awareness Training in Rumbek North and East counties.
The awareness campaign was organized by the State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the German Leprosy Relief Association (GLRA).
