A high ranking official in the Catholic Diocese of Yei has called on Christians to pick up their tools and embark on agriculture in order to develop their parishes and avoid hunger and poverty in the diocese.
Secretary-General Emmanuel Sebit Ladu said those who only enjoy sitting idle by the roadside tea places or playing games from sunrise to sunset should focus on cultivation to have food for them and their families, Radio Easter reported.Fr Sebit added that Christians should support their leaders in order to run the ministries smoothly in the parishes.
The Secretary General was speaking during the Memorial Mass of St. Joseph the Worker at St. Joseph’s Parish in Lutaya-Yei.
