The Vice President of the Republic has warned of a return to oil-rich Panthou-Higlig area if Sudan Armed Forces continue attacking SPLA positions in South Sudan.

Addressing a rally on Sunday in Juba Riek Machar Teny said the Sudanese army has continued attacking SPLA positions in Tashwin, Unity state, after the withdrawal from Panthou-Higlig.

He said the army will return to Panthou-Higlig if Sudan does not stop cross border attacks.

Dr Machar added that the international community and the African Union have failed to achieve a ceasefire between South Sudan and Sudan.

He called on the people of Central Equatoria to support the army at the frontline with food supplies.

Dr Machar urged the people to defend the country.

Those who want to join the army should report to the barracks immediately.

The Vice President was speaking at a rally organized by Central Equatoria Civil Society in Juba.
