The Catholic Bishop of Yei has appealed to the diocese and the society to cooperate with the new missionaries of the Divine Word Society that started yesterday their presence in the diocese.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe said the society and the diocese should work together with new priests of Lainya in order for their work to grow from a humble beginning into a huge tree.Bishop Lodu said when a congregation sends its members to a new place it is always a big investment.
He asked the people of Yei to welcome the missionaries by providing mattresses, kitchen tools and other things necessary to start a new home.
Bishop Lodu made these remarks yesterday during the Palm Sunday celebration at the Christ the King Cathedral, in Yei, while welcoming a group of Divine Word Missionaries who are going to work in Lainya.
