WAU MARY HELP NURSING SCHOOL GRADUATES REGISTERED NURSES

Mary Help Nursing School on Saturday graduated its first batch of registered nurses in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal .

Eleven graduates received diploma awards in a ceremonial occasion before states officials and UN agencies in Shika Hadit, Wau town, Radio Voice of Hope reported.

Janet Michael, Director for South Sudan Nursing and Midwifery, recognized the efforts put by the graduates to persevere during the learning process despite the fact that most of them have family responsibilities.

She described the career of nursing as humane job.

Ms Michael told the graduates that the nursing profession is not a conditional profession but lt demands love and humility.

The director also explained that the graduation is a turning point and the graduates are entrusted with the task to raise service standards in the hospitals they will serve.

Ms Michael congratulated the graduates for being the first registered nurses in the Republic of South Sudan and encouraged them not to be happy with the diploma but pursue a degree course.

Mary Help Nursing School was started in 2008 and admits only nurses with certificates for diploma from different hospitals and health units.

The nursing school is run by a Salesian Sister of Don Bosco.
