A charity organization based in Slovakia is lobbying the government to give financial support for health workers serving in Catholic hospitals in South Sudan.

Marian Caucik, who works for ERKO, a Slovakian Charity that supports Catholic hospitals in South Sudan together with DKA-Austria, visited the mission hospitals of Mapuodit and Marial Lou under the care of Triple A, the Arkangelo Ali Association.

He told Good News Radio that he would like to see the government of South Sudan to give more support to the mission hospitals through salaries.

Mr Caucik appealed to the South Sudanese to seek God’s intervention as they start building their nation.

He said long term development takes time and patience and needs collective efforts from the government, ordinary people, and the Church.

He commended the work of the Church in health, education and peace building

Mr Caucik urged the Government to do its part in the development of South Sudan.

The official from Slovakia called on the South Sudanese to put an end to any form of violence that blocks development.

He assured South Sudanese of the solidarity and prayers of many people from Slovakia and other European countries.

ERKO’s funds come from money Slovakian children collect while singing Christmas carols.

The charity supports development projects in South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia.
