An international mobile operator has failed to show up at the High Court today after it was sued by a local theatre company for running an ad using the group’s picture.
MTN marketing officer, who did not identify himself, denied that the company was responsible for the ad published on The Advertiser’s February 14 edition.He said the newspaper published the ad without MTN’s approval.
However, Theatre Group Association president Abulgood Mayil told CRN that they wrote a proposal to MTN to sponsor their First Theatre Convention they were trying to put together last month.
He explained that at the last minute MTN told the group they would not give money but some T-shirts.
The case was adjourned to Wednesday.
