A mother of four children was killed and four soldiers were injured yesterday during an air raid by a Sudanese military aircraft in Kalkada, Heiban locality of South Kordofan.

A victim of the attack, undergoing treatment in a local hospital, said the Antonov dropped four bombs on a barrack near a village, killing a 28-year old woman mother of four kids at her home.

He explained that the woman was trying to run after the plane dropped the first bomb but she was struck by the shrapnel from the second bomb explosion.

Her body was completely destroyed.

The raid came after American actor George Clooney testified about Khartoum’s bombing in South Kordofan in the US Congress last week.

He also protested at the Sudanese embassy in Washington calling the government in Khartoum to stop indiscriminate bombing and allow humanitarian assistance into South Kordofan and Blue Nile.
