Members of Eastern Equatoria state Assembly representing Kapoeta counties have condemned the abduction of two youths yesterday morning by a militia leader at Khartoum International Airport.
Deputy Speaker Paul Napwon read a press release on behalf of the other representatives from Kapoeta and condemned the arrest allegedly by a militia security leader Yusuf Peter Lotipe, Radio Emmanuel reported.He claimed that the arrest was done under the instructions of Brigadier Jacinto Akudo Nayanga from Kapoeta who commands a militia for the Khartoum government.
Mr Napwon said Peter Martin and Marino Mariko were arrested yesterday at 9:00AM and their whereabouts were unknown.
The deputy speaker claimed that the arrests were planned by the Khartoum government to create militia groups to fight South Sudan.
Mr Napwon said Khartoum did not accept the oil shutdown but South Sudan is a sovereign nation.
The MPs called on the government of South Sudan, the United Nations and the international community to intervene and rescue South Sudan’s citizens being kidnapped in Khartoum.
