The government of Nuba Mountains has decided to reopen the secondary schools in the region to cater for students unable to travel to Yida or Pariang in South Sudan.

Nuba Mountains secondary schools were transferred to Yida due to the war that does not allow the authorities to recruit qualified teachers from East Africa.

Payam supervisor Kodeti Changalo said this morning that the ministry of education intends to reopen secondary education in Nuba Mountain to assist students who have financial problems to join the school in Pariang, South Sudan.

Mr Changalo said the government has decided to register all students who have remained in the region.

Mr Changalo urged all students from Peace High, Karumba and St. Joseph secondary schools to hurry up and register.

He urged students not to worry about teachers but to be determined and committed.

The registration is schedule for Saturday and Monday.
