Another senior Sacred Heart sister passed away yesterday just days after the remaining sister from the founding group died.
Sr Mary Luigia Kiden passed away yesterday in the community house at Saint Joseph parish, in Juba.Sr Veronica Daniel told Bakhita Radio that Sr. Luigia broke her arm on Ash Wednesday and that caused her death.
She said the congregation is taking it heavy because it was not easy to lose two elderly members within three weeks.
Sr Veronica asked the congregation and the people of God to pray for the rest of the two sisters so that they may intercede for the congregation of the Sacred Heart and for South Sudan.
Sr Veronica said Sr Luigia suffered from multiple diseases, including diabetes and asthma.
She added that the broken arm accelerated Sr Luigia’s death.
Sr Veronica explained that although it was a painful loss, she feels encouraged by Sr Luigia’s example of faithfulness until the end.
Sr Luigia was the only sister from the Lulubo community.
Vicar general Fr Nicholas Kiri conducts a requiem mass for her soul tomorrow at Saint Joseph’s parish at 2 PM, followed by the funeral procession to Rajaf Cemetery.
